State of Mobile Internet Access in Italy: Expensive, Unreliable  # 10 Aug 2009

Despite the free wireless internet signs I’ve seen cropping up around Bracciano I have to agree with the visitor’s conclusion in the above link. Mobile internet access in Italy is a terrible experience.

Personally I’m not sure if this is a good or bad thing because I don’t know if being a tap away from the ‘net at all times is good for one’s health. I suspect not. Still, I wish Italian companies would get off their asses and provide services at least comparable to the mobile internet standards of African countries.
